PHB 100% Pure Liquid Eyeliner - True Black

What an exciting moment. The first beauty product review on my blog, and the first product that I tried from a completely vegan and cruelty-free brand. I love makeup, but I don't want animals to suffer for it. Besides that, this eyeliner is also natural. Can a natural eyeliner do the job as good as any other?

Yuka score: Excellent - 100/100

As I'm not an expert in reading ingredient lists, I use the app Yuka to analyse the ingredients. I think it's incredible that an eyeliner gets a perfect score! No nasty ingredients at all! If you start using the app, you'll see how many products get a bad score and how many ingredients there are that you don't want to use.

The packaging is very simple, which is fine by me. I love that the bottle is made of glass and not plastic. It's not only more sustainable, but it also gives it a more chic feel.

The eyeliner has a brush applicator with a very thin tip. Because it's so thin, it's very easy to draw a thin and precise line. I've never been great at drawing a winged eyeliner, but with this thin brush, it's a lot easier!

The substance is a bit thicker than that of eyeliners I used in the past. The advantage of this is that I feel more in control and that mistakes are not so easily made. The disadvantage is that you need to put the brush back in the bottle more because there isn't enough liquid anymore on the brush.

I was surprised when I saw the swatches because the colour isn't as intense there as it is on my eyes. The eyeliner has a very intense black colour. Sometimes you need 2 layers to achieve this colour, as there isn't always enough colour on the brush anymore as I've said before. If you don't like black eyeliner, it's also available in a brown colour.

This eyeliner does everything it promises. It lasts all day, it's incredibly easy to apply, you don't feel that it's there and no irritation around my eyes.

They also claim that this eyeliner is water-resistant, which is true to a certain extent. It will survive a rainstorm or tears, as long as you don't start rubbing your eyes. The moment you start rubbing the eyeliner when it's wet, it removes completely. This is convenient when you want to remove your eyeliner quick and easy with water, but not so much if you rub your eyes by accident.

Would I buy this eyeliner again?

Yes! It's vegan, cruelty-free, has the most perfect ingredient list and it just does everything I want! It has made winged eyeliner so much easier and the colour is so intensely black! The only things I don't like it's the fact that you need to dip the brush in the bottle quite often and that you have to watch out with the combination of water and rubbing. These two elements don't outweigh the good things so I'm going to keep on using this eyeliner with pleasure. I'm not such an eye rubber anyway.
